GENRE 1.2

Task 1

Call Me By Your Name- Genre scene analysis

For this task, I analysed one of my favourite films, Call Me By Your Name. I analysed the genres (romance) from specific scenes and examined how it represents convection's use in romance films. This is effective when analysing genre because

The framing of this shot (wide shot) is typically used in romance genre as it shows the audience the two (love interests) connection by capturing their body language.

The framing of this shot (wide shot) is used in romance genre because it captures the body language of the two characters (love interests) and shows the audience how emotionally close they are through their physicality.

The framing of this shot (close up) is used in the romance genre because it captures the emotion of both characters (love interests).

Task 2

Long Form Television Show - Genre References and Influence

For this task I used American Horror Story as my Long Form TV show and showed visually how it was influenced from other TV/Films in the same horror genre.

Task 3

SIT COM Video Essay

For this task I had to use a scene from my Long Form Television show, The Office USA. I had to label the convections the Office used from the genre comedy. This helped me list off the types of convections the office used. For example, the Office uses two running jokes in the scene. Which is a popular convection in the genre comedy.

Here is the youtube link of my Medium Form TV analysis of The Office.
